Stuart Hall's 167th Graduation
Graduates 2010
The Stuart Hall Class of 2010
Stuart Hall celebrated the graduation of its 167th senior class on Saturday, June 5, 2010, at 11:00 a.m. on Paradise Lawn on the School's historic campus.  Mark Eastham, Head of School, presided over the service. The featured speaker was Annette Smith Parker '69, Chair of the Stuart Hall Board of Governors and Vice President for Financial Affairs and Treasurer of Dickinson College.  Our Valedictorian was Gregory Ranzini, who was also the recipient of a National Merit Scholarship. Gregory will be a Monroe Scholar at The College of William and Mary this fall. Our co-Salutatorians were Charlie Eckman and Reed Woodrum, both of whom were named National Merit Scholarship Finalists. During the graduation service, seniors processed under an archway of shepherds' crooks - held by chosen friends - a distinctive graduation tradition dating back to the 19th century.

The 34 young men and women of the Class of 2010 included citizens of South Korea, China, Nigeria, Mexico, Saudi Arabia, the Democratic Republic of Congo, as well as the United States. In addition to receiving over $2 million in merit-based scholarships and being accepted to some of the nation's most prestigious colleges and universities - including Princeton, Washington & Lee, the University of Virginia (Echols and Rodman Scholars), the College of William and Mary, the University of North Carolina, Chapel Hill Honors Program, among others - the senior class has exhibited leadership at Stuart Hall through participation in athletics, visual and performing arts, community service, and by striving for academic excellence.

Stuart Hall School, in the context of its Episcopal tradition, prepares young men and women of all faiths, through a rigorous and supportive program in the liberal arts and sciences, for success in colleges and universities worldwide and for engaged lives of intellectual curiosity, responsible citizenship, creative expression, and compassionate service.
