Alumnae/i Weekend 2013
April 19, 20, & 21
Of the age-old radiators comforts me.
The floors of Echols and Bishops’ Way
Almost because of lack of weight.
I can hear
Each and every brick whispering,
Each telling a hundred stories,
Each teaching a lesson, a moral.
Breathing in, I can smell the familiar
Scent of aged wood and bricks.
I open my eyes.
The blinding sun
Is shining through the windows,
Spreading light onto chairs
I’ve sat in a hundred times
And carpet I’ve walked for years
And pictures of people I’ll never forget.
