Hard at work. The Cochran Middle School academic program is designed to build the foundation necessary for a smooth transition into the Upper School. A challenging curriculum with personalized instruction allows each student the opportunity to reach his/her potential. Through an interdisciplinary approach to study skills, focus is placed on organization, time management, learning strategies, and test taking.

Stuart Hall students:

  • read carefully chosen literary selections and participate in analytical discussions, thereby building vocabulary and critical thinking skills;
  • study grammar in an effort to improve written and oral communication skills;
  • work math problems to build the conceptual understanding and problem solving ability necessary for high mathematics;
  • study events and cultures from around the world in order to better understand the global society in which they live;
  • study the principles of science with emphasis on the applications of science to improving the quality of life for all people;
  • begin to acquire computer proficiency that will be necessary for success in the digital age.
