UPPER SCHOOL CLUBS

Students are encouraged to develop their social and interpersonal skills by becoming involved in and contributing to co-curricular activities at the School.  Upper School students may participate in a club on Wednesdays and Fridays.  If a student wants to create a club, s/he must find a faculty member to serve as the club's advisor and submit a "Create a Club" form to the Dean of Students.

Some of the commonly offered Upper School clubs include:

Ambassadors Club: Members of the Ambassadors Club work closely with the Admissions and Development Offices and serve as official student representatives of Stuart Hall School.  They conduct tours of the School, act as hosts for overnight and class visits, call and write prospective students, and offer to help in any way to make visitors of the School feel welcome.

Chapel Club: The Chapel Club consists of students who are interested in becoming involved in the religious life of the School by helping prepare for and assisting with chapel and special services throughout the year.

Community Outreach Club: The Outreach Committee works with the School and the surrounding community by raising awareness to volunteer efforts.  Some examples of their work include the annual blood drive for the American Red Cross and the food drive for the area Food Bank.

Ecology Club: The Ecology Club is a student-founded and student-organized group whose focus is recycling glass, aluminum, and paper at Stuart Hall School.  The mission of this club is to find productive ways, within the School community, to conserve and preserve the environment as well as to educate the School community on environmental issues.

Media Club: Members will be viewing and critiquing all types of media and discovering the behind the scenes of television production as they become independent thinkers and information literate.

International Club: The International Club is open to all students interested in expanding their world view by learning about other cultures.  The club plans special activities throughout the year for the student body.

Social Activities Club: The Social Activities Club brainstorms, plans & coordinates social activities at Stuart Hall School and promotes activities with neighboring independent schools.  The primary event of the year is the annual Spring Ball.

Upper School Creative Writing Club: Members of this club are able to get creative in a relaxed workshop-style atmosphere.  Activities will include interactions with guest writers and the production of Periscript, the School's annually published literary journal.  Anyone who likes to play with words is welcome!
